President's New Year message...

Dear Fellow Lions,

As we bid adieu to 2009, we reflect upon our accomplishments these past six months. Our Club continues to shine in the Region and District mainly through the strong support of all Mutiara Lions. To date we have accomplished what we had planned to carry out at the onset of our term. Time flies, and soon we will be electing new club officers for the new fiscal term (2010-2011) as we wind down our current term. Tomorrow will witness our last project for 2009, our Charity Countdown Party at Eastin Hotel, Penang.

The Club's activities will however still continue as we have planned a Chinese New Year gathering for the Elders, Underprivileged Children and Disabled in February 2010 and also our Club's 22nd Charter Anniversary Celebrations in May 2010. In 2010, we will also (once approved by the BOD) participate in a poor family programme by MyKasih Foundation and AmBank Malaysia. The programme called "Love my neighbourhood" will require us to identify and recommend poor families to the foundation so that they can be adopted and receive monthly food aid.

Mutiara Lions, kindly allow me to extend to you the warm wishes of me and my family for a very "HAPPY and PROSPEROUS 2010" to you and your loved ones and may the new year usher in greater luck and fortune to one and all.

GOD BLESS,

Lion Alan Cheah
President
Lions Club of George Town Mutiara
