Congratulations President!


Heartiest Congratulations to President Alan Cheah on being awarded the International President's Certificate of Appreciation (Gingko Award) by Lions Clubs International, International Director Hajjah Ellis Suriyati. The award was presented during the Club's Chinese New Year Charity Dinner and Dance with the Elders, Underprivileged Children and Handicapped on 23 February 2010 where 262 distinguished invitees from various homes, orphanages  and institutions were treated to a sumptous dinner, presented "ang pows" and goody bags and an evening of entertainment.
The award was conferred on our Club President "In recognition of Distinguished Achievements in Fulfilling the Service Mission of Lions Clubs".
Present at the event were District Governor Choong Kwei Loi, Immediate Past District Governor Kenneth Saw & Lady Girlie Saw, 1st Vice District Governor Hudson Hah, 2nd Vice District Governor Shawn Lee, Past District Governor Dato' Khoo Kay Huat and several Cabinet Officers.

CHINESE NEW YEAR PROJECT - 23 FEBRUARY 2010

Our Chinese New Year Charity Dinner and Dance for the Elders, Underprivileged Children and Handicapped has received tremendous support. Current participation is at 75 tables including 262 invitees.  The Guest of Honour for the evening is LCI's International Director Hajjah Ellis Suriyati (all the way from Kuching). Other Lions dignitaries attending are Immediate Past District Governor Kenneth Saw & Lady Girlie Saw, 2nd Vice District Governor Shawn Lee and Past District Governor Dato' Khoo Kay Huat & Datin Loo Kuai Hong and several Cabinet Officers in the region.

A full programme has been planned out by the Organising Committee led by 2nd VP Lion Tina Tan and the evening promises to be one full of entertainment for one and all. There will be singing presentations, Choir singing and dance exhibition by dance competition champions.

Mutiara Lions are advised that the dress code for this evening will be traditional chinese wear (RED) with Club Vest.
