LCGTM's Poor Family Adoption Programme...

The Club's signature project is its Poor Family Adoption programme which has been in existence for the past twenty two years since 1989. To date the Club has supported and assisted more than twenty adopted families. The Club supports each adopted family with monthly supplies of household necessities like rice, cooking oil, milk etc for a period of at least twelve months. There are certain cases whereby the Club also provided special items on request by the respective families.

The Club has been supporting the current adopted poor family of Mr. Ravindran the past three years. Besides Mr. Ravindran, the Club has also been supporting Mdm. Parameswari for the past six months.

During fiscal year 2009-2010, the Club successfully recommended a total of twenty seven poor families under the "My Kasih" adoption programme.

This fiscal year (2011-2012) sees the Club embarking on a more ambitious programme besides the Poor Family Adoption Programme i.e. the setting up of a day care centre for poor families. This mammoth project has been entrusted to Past Council Chairperson Allan Cheah.
