Region One will be organising the Region 1 Lions Idol karaoke singing competition on 16 January 2010 at a venue to be confirmed. There will be two rounds of competition - a preliminary to be held in the day time and the finals during a fellowship dinner party.The purpose of this contest is to select representatives from the Region to participate in the District level competition scheduled to be held in March 2010.
Contestants are required to bring their own CD/DVD and register two songs to be sung either in English, B.M., Mandarin, Hokkien or Cantonese only. Entry fees for contestants is a modest RM10.00 only whilst participation in the fellowship dinner party is RM50.00 per person. Lions interested to participate in the singing competition can prepare themselves from now on.
Organising Chairperson for the Region 1 contest is Regional Committee Chairperson Lion Ooi Soon Theng from LC Georgetown Central.
