New GTM Medical Fund to help the needy.

The Lions Club of George Town Mutiara (LCGTM) in smart partnership with Pantai Hospital Penang (PHP) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 15 June 2010 to set up a joint GTM/PHP medical fund called the "Lions GTM Pantai Penang Medical Fund". All contributions to the fund of RM1,000.00 and above are "tax-exempt". The initial target is to raise RM200,000.00 to enable the fund to substantially help the poor and needy medical patients of our community.
The purpose of this fund is to assist the needy of our community to obtain expensive medical treatment at the hospital. Both parties have initially contributed RM10,000.00 each for the fund. Medical procedures like cataract surgery, cardiac surgery, neuro surgery and other expensive medical procedures except gynaelogical and sinus washouts will be considered. All applications will however be decided on a case by case basis.
