Kwong Yit Poh press report on 17 August 2012 ...

The Kwong Wah Yit Poh Press on 17 August 2012 featured an exclusive report on the Lions GTM-Pantai Penang Medical Fund's activities ~ Free Cataract Eye Surgery for needy patients and Charity Food Fair fund raising Carnival scheduled on 28 October 2012 at the Pantai Hospital Penang grounds.

The Lions GTM-Pantai Penang Medical Fund is a smart partnership between the Lions Club of George Town Mutiara and the Pantai Hospital Penang to help the needy peoples of Penang avail themselves of much needed medical treatment etc by providing cash subsidies to these patients. 
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Club and Pantai Hospital Penang was inked on 15 May 2010 in the Lions fiscal year 2009-2010 and officially launched by TYT Yang DiPertua Negeri Pulau Pinang on 02 November 2010.

To date, the fund has disbursed some RM100,000.00 to help the many needy peoples of Penang and neighbouring states. The fund current project is the free eye cataract surgery which is supported by the CIMB Foundation.
