The LOGOS HOPE, the world's largest floating library is in town, berthed at the Swettenham Pier, Penang.The ship will be in port for a one month period. The Lions Club of George Town Mutiara will be bringing one hundred (100) primary school children on board the ship on Saturday, 27 August 2011 for a tour of the ship besides witnessing a cultural performance by the crew and also to visit the library. Organising Chairperson of this project is Lion Peter Koay and members are requested to meet at the entrance of the pier by 3pm that day.
The 2nd project with the ship and crew is the setting up of a library at the Rumah Kebajikan Sri Cahaya (Sri Cahaya Welfare Home) in Permatang Damar Laut, Batu Maung, Penang. This project will be carried out next month with the support and assistance of the crew of the Logos Hope.
