Twenty two applications were received by the Lions GTM-Pantai Medical Fund Management Committee for FREE cataract surgeries to be carried out at the Pantai Hospital, Penang.
The Case Investigation Committee chaired by Past Council Chairperson Allan Cheah Cheng Wah after having vetted the applications in depth recommended the approval of fifteen of the twenty two applications received. The first batch of successful applicants approved by the Medical Fund Management Committee are:
The approved applicants will now be referred to Mr. Yau Ga Rin and Dr.(Miss) Ho Phuay Har, Consultant Eye Surgeons at Pantai Hospital, Penang for case management and subsequent surgery.
The remaining seven applications were not approved due to incomplete documentations and will be reviewed by the Fund's Management committee at its upcoming March meeting.
Meanwhile, the Club is still receiving applications from needy patients for this free service.
