GEORGE TOWN MUTIARA LIONS celebrated the 22nd Birthday of the Club and her members born in April with a potluck fellowship party at the residence of Charter President Danny Lim on 11 April 2010.
The Lions Club of George Town Mutiara was chartered on 13 April 1988 and since then has grown from strength to strength even though the the membership of the Club has been maintained at a steady 29 for the past few years. The Club has been recognised by Lions Club International for its membership retention and has been awarded numerous "Membership Retention Banner patches".
In its 22 year history, the club has produced two District Governors (one of whom became the Multiple District 308 Council Chairperson) in Past Council Chairperson Allan Cheah and Past District Governor Dato' Khoo Kay Huat. Members of the Club have served the district cabinet in various capacities from Regional Committee Chairpersons to Cabinet Secretary.
This year's birthday celebrations was attended by former Charter members of the club in Maggie Khoo (past club Secretary) and Johnny Khor. We hope that they will find the time to rejoin the Club soon. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" GEORGE TOWN MUTIARA!
